Drink Sustainability Communications is proud to have not one, not two, but three long-time partners as winners at the recently concluded 17th Philippine Quill Awards!
On Aug. 30, 2019, Maynilad Water Services, Inc., and Philex Mining Corporation were recognized for their 2017 Sustainability Reports, with Maynilad’s “Expanding Horizons” and Philex’s “Balance” taking home Quill Awards for Publications and for Writing, respectively. Both reports were written and designed by Drink.
Meanwhile, Energy Development Corporation’s “Positive Energy: Battle of the Brains Negros,” a project staged and managed by Drink, was recognized for its contributions to Community Relations.
Since 2010, Drink, a Manila-based sustainability communications agency, has been a consistent partner of top Philippine corporations, across industries, in redefining what it means to do business.
“We at Drink would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our partners. We thank them for their continued trust in Drink,” says Harris Guevarra, Drink CEO. “I would also like to thank the dedicated project teams in Drink for their hard work and for continuing to tell the stories that matter.
The Philippine Quill Awards, organized by the International Association of Business Communicators, is the premier awards-giving program in business communication, honoring dedicated members of the industry who have displayed excellence in achieving their business goals and in enacting positive social change.
The Publications category recognizes exemplary works made for internal or external publications in all formats. Now in its second year of adopting its Next Generation Framework, Maynilad continues its commitment to sustainability with its 2017 sustainability report. The utility company has been coming out with an annual sustainability report for more than a decade now.
The Writing category recognizes outstanding works that were meant to educate and empower stakeholders and/or employees of the organization. Philex has long advocated responsible mining standards and has also faithfully reported on its sustainability performance, even prior to being mandated to do so by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The Community Relations category recognizes projects dedicated to educating communities on relevant issues through communication initiatives. Now on its fourth year, Battle of the Brains is a competition designed to educate students in major cities in the Visayas on the effects of global warming and the importance of positive climate action. The high school quiz bee has also been instrumental in spreading awareness on the benefits of renewable energy among the Filipino youth.
