Drink CEO Talks Business Sustainability With the Asian Institute of Management
“The practice of sustainability makes perfect business sense,” says Drink CEO Harris Guevara during the most recent MBA Live episode of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM). Entitled “Sustainability: The New Language of Business,” the expert panel was broadcasted live on the AIM Facebook page to hundreds of viewers last September 12. The session also featured AIM professor Felipe Calderon who discussed sustainable finance, as well as corporate sustainability practitioners Koleen Davila-Palaganas of SM Investments Corporation and Esther An of City Developments Limited from Singapore.
While sustainability may have only recently started gaining traction in the local business sector, Harris has been a sustainability communications pioneer since 2014. Harris not only shared insights as a consultant to all manner of clients, but also as an entrepreneur with small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of his own. Harris highlighted the practicality of sustainability for any business, SMEs included, because sustainable business practices create genuine and long-term value that ensure success and survival in the 21ST century. He and his fellow panelists agreed that this is especially true during difficult times like the climate and pandemic crises.
